This course helps participants to prepare for the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) exam, a testing and certification program sponsored by the Microsoft Corporation. The following five modules assists participants to build a comprehensive understanding of the core features of Microsoft Word and applicable job skills.
 
Letter and Templates
In this module, participants create semi-block style letters. They learn to format characters with the AutoFormat function, place and align text, edit text, use paragraph formatting and tab setting options, use templates and print documents and envelopes.
 
Announcements and Questionnaires
Participants create announcements, surveys and quizzes in this module. They add bullets and numbering, apply font styles and character effects, align text, set line spacing options, use tabs and indentation options and use the Repeat command.
 
Flyers and Mailers
While creating fliers and mailers with WordArt, participants learn to align text vertically, set tabs with headers, create and modify lines, objects, and 3D shapes and process text.
 
Handouts
The module includes exercises on formatting large documents, formatting pages, and using columns. Participants learn to insert page breaks, set margins and line spacing options, use hyphenation, create page numbers and headers, find and replace text, revise column structure, key and edit text in columns and use print preview.
 
Handbooks
In this module, participants create, apply, and edit styles, create and modify page numbers, headers and footers and generate an outline.
 
Prerequisites
Computer Fundamentals or equivalent experience
Word 2000 Processing or equivalent experience
