About Us
The National Urban Technology Center, Inc. (Urban Tech) develops products
for building social, computer and academic skills among underserved youth.
Through our Youth Leadership Academy (YLA) courses, teens gain valuable social
skills and resources necessary for academic success and long-term employability.
YLA’s rich multimedia curriculum integrates life skills and technology with academic learning for students ages 10-18.
Urban Tech also delivers turn-key computer training centers (CTCs), industry
standard computer courseware and technical assistance to prepare adults for
full participation in an information age. Urban Tech works in partnership with
community-based organizations such as schools, youth development centers,
religious organizations, and social services agencies to provide these services.
Our model programs, curriculum and training provide organizations with the tools
they need to improve the quality of life in inner city and remote rural areas. In the
past seven years, we have helped thousands of people nationwide to realize their
goals of greater academic achievement, certification for computer-related jobs,
and improved life skills and standards.
Headquartered in the lower Manhattan Development zone in New York City,
Urban Tech is a not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) corporation focused on providing
technology access and education for youth and adults in underserved communities.
